Goon's Army entered in the jungle in 1998. Nearly 30 years later they still fight a war with no end in sight! Under the command of their “Fearless Leader,” Sergeant Bloodfest, Goon’s Army honed their sound and mastered their instruments of destruction. Together, they have crafted their songs of war!

86’d Battalion captures Goon’s Army at its most direct: furious, confrontational, and grounded in the DIY tradition of punk rock. It stands as both a document of the band’s early sound and a foundation for the identity they continue to build through their live performances and subsequent releases.

"GOON or die!"

What sets Goon’s Army apart is its belief that a band’s identity should extend beyond the music. The band performs in what they call their “Gooniforms,” drawing visual inspiration from punk rock, action films, professional wrestling, and the exaggerated characters and gimmicks that shaped their childhoods. Those influences come to life onstage, where every performance is designed to be experienced rather than simply watched.

That philosophy extends directly to the audience. With two frontmen on wireless mics, Goon’s Army routinely leaves the confines of the stage, turning the entire room into their playground. The goal isn’t to create distance between the band and the crowd—it’s to eliminate it!

The result is a live show built on unpredictability, physical energy, and audience participation. Goon’s Army doesn’t treat the crowd as spectators; they are part of the performance.

Musically, the band draws heavily from the urgency and directness of old-school punk while maintaining its own Southern California perspective. Their 2020 album, 86’d Battalion, established the foundation of their recorded sound: fast, confrontational, and deliberately raw—music built for a live environment where every song can become a catalyst for movement and chaos.

At its core, Goon’s Army is all about creating an experience that feels inclusive, yet unpredictable!
